Cerost is a planet where magic exists both in nature and in the darker aspects of ones' own being, but is quickly being considered more dangerous than it's worth. Old traditions are being pushed aside to make room for economic might and technological advances. Venetroni, the spell wielding defenders of the world and successors to sorceresses, once considered heroes, are seen as little more than a freakish cult.

It is at this tense time of peace where one man, wracked with grief, attempts to change everything to regain what he has lost. What he does will have greater reaching consequences than he can anticipate, and will cross paths with the remaining Venetroni.
